If you are thinking of becoming a Sydney-based nanny, and want that extra support to ensure you are placed with the right family, we would love you to join our team of dedicated nannies! When you become a nanny with us, you become part of our team. We strive to create a work environment based on communication and integrity; so that every Gumnut Nanny feels heard and cared for in their profession.

To become a nanny with us you are required to have -

  • to be at least 18 years of age

  • two professional references that we can contact

  • a pre-placement interview with our team

  • a first-aid certificate (HLTAID004/HLTAID003)

  • CPR qualification must be included in first-aid training (HLTAID001)

  • working with children check

  • a police background check

 

Even if you don’t have any of these, that is okay! Our agency will then help you to get these required qualifications, so you can start your nannying journey with Gumnut Nannies.

The process is really easy. Gumnut Nannies value positive and caring nannies. We will make the transition into a work placement a calm process, so you can focus on the little ones in your care.

Once we receive your application, one of our team will be in touch to organise an interview.

check available jobs

You will then be ready to start interviewing with families to find the right fit for you!

Gumnut Nannies continue to support our nannies and our families into their relationship by providing help with interviewing, contracts, negotiations and disputes.

We provide assistance in establishing contracts and relationships.

Gumnut Nannies will also help you prepare to interview.

We can give guidance on defining your requirements and expectations about ​

  • hours

  • salaries

  • contracts

  • and what services you will be expected to do in your new job.

As well as -

Unlike other agencies, our relationship doesn't end as soon as your perfect match is found. We will schedule further 'check-ins' up until 3 months post-hiring, to provide support and guidance for any queries that arise after the recruitment process. 

In the unlikely event that there are disputes, we will attempt to assist the parties to resolve their concerns amicably.
